DESCRIPTION

Scope of Services

1. PERSONAL CRIME

1.1 Fastlane Emergencies Resources Group Sdn. Bhd. (FERG) shall provide

the following services if the Member becomes a victim of crime:

(a) Assist Member to call for police response from the nearest police

station anywhere in Malaysia.

(b) Assist Member to notify immediate family member.

1.2 Personal crime shall be defined as follows:

(a) Robbery and Snatch Theft involving taking or attempting to take

valuable item(s) from a Member by an unknown person by force or

threat of force or violence.

(b) Assault or attempted assault involving unlawful attack by another

person to inflict severe injuries.

(c) Rape and Sexual Assault or such attempts by known or unknown

person or persons against the Member.

1.4 Crime shall not include the following acts or omission by the Member:

(a) Engagement in any unlawful activity by the Member

(b) Accomplice or accessory to an unlawful crime

(c) Under the influence of drugs or liquor

(d) Vandalism

(e) Possession of unlawful weapons

(f) Curfew violation

(g) Domestic violence

(h) Drug law violations

(i) Liquor law violation

(j) Raids by enforcement agencies

(k) Riots, strikes or civil commotion

2. HEALTH (CRIME-RELATED INJURIES OR SICKNESS)

2.1 FERG shall provide the following services if the Member is seriously injured

or sick from a crime-related incident:

(a) Arrange medical evacuation of the Member to any hospital or medical

centre by ambulance.

(b) Assist Member to notify immediate family member.

(c) Arrange notification to insurance company if requested to do so by the

Member.

2.2 All cost of medical evacuation shall be borne by the Member.

2.3 Health shall be defined as the condition of the Member being well or free

from serious injury and not ill-health. For the purpose of the service

provided by FERG, ambulance services shall be called if the Member is

seriously injured from crime-related causes and not from sickness.

3. HOME (HOUSE-BREAKING)

3.1 FERG shall provide the following services if the Member’s home is broken

into or vandalized and Member is at home:

(a) Assist Member to call for police response from the nearest police

station to the scene of crime.

(b) Assist Member to notify immediate family member.

(c) Arrange medical evacuation of the Member or his immediate family

member to any hospital or medical centre by ambulance following

injuries sustained as a result of a criminal act.

3.2 All cost of medical evacuation shall be borne by the Member.

3.3 Housebreaking shall be defined as the act of using physical force to gain

access to and entering a house in which the Member is residing with an

intent to commit a felony inside.

4. MOTORING (CRIME-RELATED)

4.1 FERG shall call for police response if the Member’s motor vehicle or motor

nbike is the subject of a criminal act by unknown third party:

(a) Theft of vehicle or motor bike requiring assistance to lodge

police report

(b) Break-in of vehicle requiring assistance to call for police response.

(c) Robbery or attempted robbery whilst in or driving the vehicle

requiring assistance for police response

(d) Assault or attempted assault whilst driving the vehicle requiring

assistance for police response

(e) Assist Member to notify immediate family members.

4.2 Motoring Crime shall be defined as follows:

(a) Break-in involving unlawful entry or attempting to enter the motor

vehicle belonging to the Member resulting in damage to the motor

vehicle.

(b) Theft or attempted theft of a motor vehicle belonging to the Member.

(c) Damage to the motor vehicle belonging to the Member as a result of

willful or unlawful act by unknown person or persons.

(d) Motor vehicle shall include motorbike for the purpose of crime-related

niotoring incidents.

5. MOTORING (BREAKDOWN AND ACCIDENT)

5.1 FERG shall provide the following services if the Member’s motor vehicle is

disabled or damaged in a motor accident.

(a) Breakdown of vehicle requiring jumpstart.

(b) Breakdown of vehicle requiring replacement of new battery. (Cost of

battery shall be borne by the Member).

(c) Breakdown of vehicle requiring replacement of flat tyre.

(d) Breakdown of vehicle requiring towing.

(e) Towing of vehicle to the police station if it is damaged by an accident.

(f) Assist Member to notify immediate family members.

5.2 Motoring Breakdown shall be defined as the mechanical failure of a motor

vehicle in such a way that the underlying problem prevents the motor

vehicle from being driven at all.

5.3 Motoring Breakdown services shall not apply to a motorbike except towing

of the disabled motorbike to the nearest authorized service center.

5.4. Motoring Accident shall be defined as the unintended collision of the

Member’s motor vehicle with another, a stationary object, or person,

resulting in damage to the vehicle.

5.5 All cost of towing and roadside assist shall be borne by the Member.
